Pigeon waste cleaning

Feb 21, 2018

Pigeons nest in their own feces and a single pigeon can deposit over 25 pounds of droppings a year. As a result, the majority of nesting & roosting areas contain dangerous fungi and bacteria that are potentially harmful to humans. Some examples of these diseases pigeons can carry and can be transmitted to humans, include histoplasmosis , cryptococcosis , and psittacosis . Pigeon droppings are as much of a concern as the pigeons themselves. Pigeon droppings are extremely acidic and have been known to eat through steel and most roofing materials if not cleaned periodically. To eliminate accumulation of droppings the site is first brush cleaned to eliminate the bulk of the droppings. The area is then pressure washed & special enzymatic disinfectants are applied, breaking down the remainder of the droppings. These products are non-toxic, environmentally safe, non-flammable & biodegradable.
